Motorcity Motorist Centres Ltd was established in January 1985. Originally operating in Pontefract the company expanded in April 1988 opening an additional site in Wakefield. Having outgrown the site that branch was relocated in September 1991 to larger premises here at Knottingley.
Motorcity – Knottingley aim has always been to offer our customers a high quality, cost effective service on all makes of vehicle. Having a workshop floor area of almost 6000 sq/ft, which accommodates 6 vehicle repair lifts in addition to Class 4 & 7 MOT testing facilities, tyre bay and additional working areas. We undertake all kinds of servicing, mechanical, electrical and diagnostic repairs on all makes of cars. Also light commercial vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes
All our branches have a well appointed, comfortable customer waiting and reception area which offers television and free vend drinks.

are using the latest state of the art diagnostic and air conditioning service equipment from leading companies such as Bosch, Nextech, Texa and Snap-On. We pride ourself on our ability to cope with almost any problem your vehicle may develop. Whether it be engine, ABS (Anti lock brakes), ESP (Stability/Traction control), SRS (Airbag), Air-Con. Or any of the many other systems commonly fitted to modern vehicles.
The well qualified staff we employ come with a wealth of experience; some of our most senior employees have been in the trade for more than 30 years. And several have been with the company for more than 20 years.
The company is justly proud of its training record with staff gaining qualifications thorough approved professional bodies. These include City and Guilds, The Institute of Motor Industries, The Institute of Road Transport Engineers, The Society of Operations Engineers. As well as the more equipment and systems specific qualification courses through which staff have attained training qualifications with industry leaders the likes of Bosch and Snap-On (diagnostics), Hella (air conditioning systems) amongst others.
Motorcity – Knottingley are able to carry out servicing to manufacturers recommended schedules, providing parts from leading original equipment component manufacturers. Either these equal or exceed the vehicle manufacturer’s specification as is required to maintain your vehicle warranty.
We compete very favourably with national fast fit chains in most cases when supplying and fitting Exhausts, Brakes, Tyres, Batteries, Shock absorbers etc. as well as offering a much broader service such as MOT testing and repairs, Diagnostic Work, Clutch replacement, Timing belt replacement, Steering and Suspension repairs, Air-conditioning servicing and repairs, Engine and Gearbox repairs, as well as Servicing and general maintenence.
